Tattoos have something of a seedy reputation. A long-standing stigma associated body ink with biker gangs, ex-cons, rowdy sailors and other archetypes of ill repute. But tattoos have made their way into the mainstream, and one local businessman says the stereotype no longer applies.

On Tuesday, the Madison County Board of Commissioners scheduled a public hearing for March 18 to discuss possible changes in a county ordinance No. 2002-BC-0-5. The ordinance precludes convicted felons from working as tattoo artists, but Greg Stacy thinks that should change.
